CARE TIPS FOR FURNITURE:

Solid Wood Furniture:

We do not recommend furniture polish that contains waxes or silicone. We suggest using any water based polish used  sparingly, always rubbing with the grain of wood.  Wipe all spills immediately. Do not let them remain or dry out on the table. White ring marks on wood we recommend to blot with an absorbent cloth. Then wipe with damp cloth to help dissolve the stain, and dry with soft cloth. If the stain remains, apply a little nongel toothpaste, or liquid or cream car polish, rubbing with the grain. Wipe with a dry cloth and polish if needed.

Dust often and only in the direction of the grain, using  a clean, slightly damp cloth. Wipe excess moisture with a soft, dry cloth.

Do not expose your fine wood to strong sunlight or extreme changes in temperature or humidity.

Protect table surface with coasters and or hot pads. Do not put rubber or vinyl products on your table top.

Solid wood table edges (laminate tops) should be wiped with a clean, damp cloth and  dried immediately. Excess moisture will cause "lifting" of finish from table edge.

Travertine or Marble:

Avoid undue pressure on corners or unsupported areas of travertine and marble. Always carry tops from the sides, not the ends, in an upright or vertical position, never flat or horizontal.

Marble is specially treated with a polyester seal that protects the stone and prevents it from alcohol or coffee stains.

Do not expose the polyester to excessive heat or humidity. 

Clean with damp or dry cloth.

Spills or Stains on Fabric:

We recommend that you act quickly when a spill happens on your fabric. Quickly blot, don't scrub with a white cloth or towel until dry. Follow the care labels on fabric you are treating. Test a cleaning detergent solution by applying several drops to an inconspicuous area and holding a wet white cloth on the area for one minute. Check cloth for color transfer and fabric for color change or damage. If there is none, proceed.

Apply a small amount of cleaning detergent solution to a white cloth. Gently work it into the outer edges of the stain and then toward the center. Repeat with clean white cloths until you can't transfer any more stain to the cloth. If the stain remains, try another cleaning detergent solution. Flush with water once the stain is gone to remove the cleaning solution. Then blot.
